Consulting

Consulting for Therapists, Pastors, and Professionals

Are you looking for ways to integrate spirituality into your care practices more effectively? Do you want guidance on supporting people through matters of faith, identity, or spiritual struggle? I provide consultation and training for therapists, clergy, and healthcare professionals who want to incorporate spiritually-informed practices and resources into their work.

With over 13 years of experience, I combine theological depth with practical tools to help caregivers address the whole person — emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. My goal is to equip you to offer compassionate, holistic care that honors both the faith and well-being of those you serve. Areas of focus include:
1. Integrating Spirituality in Client Care
  • Ethically integrate a client's faith into their care, even if they hold a faith tradition and perspective different than your own.
  • Help clients discover spiritual resources that enrich their spiritual life and mental health.
2. Spiritual Deconstruction and Reconstruction
  • Help clients unpack and examine beliefs received from their upbringing.
  • Walk with clients through the process of unpacking beliefs that may no longer resonate with them.
  • Aid in the process of helping clients rebuild a new spiritual identity that aligns with their actual beliefs, authentic self, and life goals.
3. Religious Trauma and Spiritual Abuse
  • Recognize factors that can make spirituality and religion harmful to certain clients and groups.
  • Understand the psychological and emotional scars that can emerge from harmful religious experiences.
  • Support clients as they discover new spiritual perspectives that help them heal and move forward.
4. LGBTQ+
  • Equip clients with theological perspectives that celebrate LGBTQ+ people, emphasizing that all are deserving of love and belonging within spiritual communities.
  • Help LGBTQ+ conversion therapy survivors unpack and challenge harmful ideas around their self-worth and identity received from conversion therapy.
  • If desired, help survivors reconstruct a spirituality that is life-giving to them and affirming of who they are.
5. Professional Direction
  • Identify your passion and expertise within spiritual care to find a fulfilling career path, whether in pastoral counseling, spiritually-integrated psychotherapy, chaplaincy, spiritual direction, or other forms of spiritual care.
  • For pastoral counselors, therapists, and spiritual directors in private practice: learn the essentials of business management, marketing strategies, and ethical considerations to grow a fulfilling and legally compliant spiritually-integrated practice.
