About Me

Who I Am

Picture
My name is Tres Adames (pronounced “Tress Ah-dah-mess”). I’m a pastoral counselor and mental health educator with a passion for helping people reach their full potential emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.

I was born and raised in Phoenix, but my journey took me out of state for college and seminary in the South. While those years shaped me in important ways, I eventually felt a strong pull to go back to the West as the Sonoran Desert has always felt like home. I grew up in a Christian family but have deconstructed and reconstructed many times in my journey of faith through a deep connection to God that has always carried me through.

As a person of faith, I’m deeply inspired by the Wesleyan vision of entire sanctification, not as a rigid doctrine, but as a way of seeing life as a journey toward wholeness. To me, it means that we are never finished growing. We are invited to keep becoming: stronger, wiser, more compassionate, and more fully alive. Counseling gives me the privilege of walking alongside others in that process, helping them uncover new strength, healing, and clarity as they step into who they were created to be.

I’m married to the love of my life, and we share our home with a wily cat and a strong, lovable English bulldog. When I’m not working, I stay active through weightlifting and rucking, and I recharge by reading, writing, and doing creative projects. For me, growth means training both the body and soul with the same dedication—pursuing a balance of physical health, emotional resilience, and spiritual depth.
